2018 Palisander Cup

2018 Palisander Cup

The New Zealand Go club, based in Auckland, invites entries for the Palisander Cup.

The plan is for this to become one of New Zealand's premier tournaments, it will have a format similar to the Japanese Meijin with a qualifying tournament to decide the challenger for the incumbent champion and significant prizes for the champion and qualifying tournament winner.

This year the winner will receive a very nice Goban to keep and second place will receive a fancy set of stones.

The qualifying tournament will consist of six rounds held over two Sundays, October 28th and November 4th. The two top players will qualify for the champion play off series at a later date.

The venue will be Palisander Rosewood Furniture, 694 Gt South Rd, Penrose Auckland.
- Parking is available at the front of the building.

The cost of the tournament is $50.
- This includes lunch on both days and a roast lamb BBQ dinner on the second Sunday.

Accommodation is available for people coming from outside of Auckland - please let us know and we will find a local player to host you.

Please pre-register - (The registration form is at the end of this document)
