Hi New Zealand Go players

I hope everyone is enjoying being able to move freely again and is getting some face to face games now.

Now we can plan again we have set the dates for our tournaments this year.
  • First up is the Wellington Open, which will be held on the  29th and 30th of August. The Wellington club will send out an invitation with full  details soon.
  • Next is the NZ Open in Auckland on October 3rd & 4th.
Venue: Palisander Rosewood Furniture, 694 Gt South Rd, Penrose
Dinner at the venue on Saturday night
Pair Go mini tournament after dinner
  • Auckland Open, November 21 and 22
Chahine Koleejan will be our representative at the The Korean Prime Minister Cup (KPMC) tournament this year. Because of the Covid 19 pandemic this tournament will be held online. Hopefully this will also enable all games to be viewed as they are played and reviewed later. I'm looking forward to seeing Chahine's games.
  • The tournament will be played on the 'Tygem' (www.tygem.com) go server.
  • A 'double elimination' formula will be used for the qualifying games to select a final 32 for a knockout to determine the winner.
  • The games will be played during August.
  • The KPMC web site is http://kpmc.kbaduk.or.kr/eng/  (details of this tournament do not seem to be present yet)
Best regards
Colin Grierson
