Thanks again to everyone who came to the 2025 NZ Open. It was a great weekend and wonderful to see everyone. Full results and photos will soon be on the website:
A special congratulations to Chahine Koleejan (6d), who won the NZ Open again this year.
This continues an exceptional run of results:Â 1st place in the 2024 NZ Open, 1st place in the 2025 Digital Open, 1st place in the 2024 Digital Open, and many more of our other recent tournaments.

We need to select the NZ representative quickly — the international deadline is in about ten days.
Eligibility (based on the organiser’s official rules):
You must be a current university / tertiary student.
You must be under 30 on 12 February 2026.
You must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.
Recommended playing strength: approximately 1–2 dan or stronger.
You must be able to travel to Tokyo for the event dates.
If you meet the criteria and wish to be considered, please email me URGENTLY. We only have a couple weeks!
