Dear Go Players, the Otago Go Club announces the 2019 Otago Open. Here are the details.



 

Enjoy the mid-winter warmth of a log burner, good food and the company of other go players at the 2019 Otago Open Go Championship.

Four rounds of high quality go.  Your chance to win WAGC points”.
Prizes awarded to Champion and top kyu player and top beginner.
Demonstration of Leela/Lizzie as a game analysis tool.

 

Latest registration accepted Sunday 29 June

Tournament Conditions

3-4 round MacMahon.  Fischer Time. 15 minutes each + 15 seconds per move.
Sections: 1-7Dan; 1-9 Kyu+; 10-30kyu.
Tie-breaker:  Sum of Opponent’s Scores (SOS) will be used to determine winner in the event of a tie.
WAGC points:  Top 4 NZ citizens or permanent residents receive points (10,6,3,1)*

Entry Fee $20, $10 student or under 16.  Direct credit OU Go Club (38-9014-0558495-00). Use “OO” and your name as reference.

*WAGC (World Amateur Go Championship) points are awarded only at NZ and regional champs.  Each year the player with the most accumulated points is invited to represent NZ at international tournaments.
