An overview of the week end (thanks to Summer Li):

The 2018 Australia Vs New Zealand tournament was held last week. Australian team sent 7 players to Auckland for this tournament. Special thanks to Tony for organizing all the events and providing accommodation and tours for the players.

Wei Zhou bested Kevin Liu in a best of three, and emerged the champion.

In the team matches: NZ vs Aussie scores were as follows

4:2
1:5
4:2

So NZ ended up winning the teams matchup, as the score was taken to be in terms of total wins per side, giving Team NZ 2 points over Aussies 1.

Wasn’t really a formal competition between NZ and Aussie, apart from Kevin Liu’s game against Wei Zhou. The NZ teams weren’t fixed, and were more of a random mix of people who wanted to play. Nevertheless, awards and prizes were handed out afterwards courtesy to the sponsorship of NZ Lvgou. There was a big dinner after the actual event, and all in all was a nice weekend spent playing go.
