As of 15th February 2018 A member of the University of Canterbury Go Club has achieved the no 1 position on the OGS international go server 19 x 19 site ladder !
This is a somewhat remarkable achievement and Alan never expected it and was only dreaming of a top ten position.

Opito Bay Go festival
Mike Taylor is opening his Opito Bay bach to NZ (and overseas) Go players from 31 Jan to 7 Feb inclusive this year.
Mike has a large, comfortable house just behind the beach - which has been voted one of the 10 best beaches in the country according to the NZ Herald. Come and join us to relax, swim, fish, walk, play Go and other games
31 Jan is a lunar eclipse, Opito bay is very dark and is a great place for star gazing.
6 Feb is Waitangi Day.
